What is La Lecturia?

La Lecturia is an immersive reading experience — part book club, part curated kit, part cultural gathering. Each cycle centers around one carefully chosen book, paired with a collectible kit and a series of experiences designed to bring the story to life beyond the page.

How does a cycle work?

Each cycle opens with a book announcement and kit order period. You purchase your kit, complete a short member form and quiz, and receive your kit before the reading period begins. Throughout the cycle we gather in person in Los Angeles and share the reading journey together. Each cycle closes with a finale event.

Do I need to be an avid reader to join?

Not at all. La Lecturia is designed for anyone who loves stories — whether you read every day or you've been meaning to read more and just needed something worth showing up for.

What's inside the kit?

Every Cycle 01 kit includes a welcome card, your character bookmark, a contextual pairings guide with 4 films, 4 recipes, 4 albums, and 4 activities, plus a La Lecturia sticker sheet. Every item was chosen around the world of the book and around you.

Do I need to buy the book separately?

Yes — the book is not included in the kit. Most books are available on Amazon, Bookshop.org, or at your local bookstore.

What is the quiz for?

The quiz helps us determine which character from the book you're most like. Your result shapes your character bookmark, a keepsake designed specifically around that character. We don't reveal your result beforehand, that's part of the surprise when you open your kit.

Will I find out my quiz result before my kit arrives?

No, and that's intentional. Your character bookmark is the reveal. Trust the process.

What if two people in my household order kits?

Each person should complete their own member form and quiz separately so each kit is personalized individually.

How much does the kit cost?

The Cycle 01 kit is $15. LA-based members can also choose the in-person pickup option at the same price, which includes their kit at The Gathering on June 7th.

What is the order deadline?

The order deadline for Cycle 01 is June 7, 2026. Once the deadline passes the cycle closes and no further orders are accepted.

When will my kit arrive?

Kits are estimated to arrive between June 18th and June 22nd for most orders.

Do you ship internationally?

Currently La Lecturia ships within the United States only. International shipping may be available in future cycles.

What if my kit arrives damaged?

If anything in your kit arrives damaged please reach out to us at lalecturia@gmail.com with a photo and we'll make it right.

Can I get a refund?

Because kits are assembled and personalized based on your quiz answers, all sales are final once the order deadline has passed. If you have concerns before the deadline please reach out to us directly.

Are events required?

Not at all. Events are optional and open to all Cycle 01 kit holders. The reading journey is fully complete without attending — but we'd love to have you there.

Are events only in Los Angeles?

For Cycle 01, yes — all events are in person in Los Angeles. We hope to expand to other cities and virtual options in future cycles.

What is the difference between the kit by mail and the LA in-person option?

Both options include the exact same kit. The LA in-person option means you pick up your kit at The Gathering on June 7th instead of having it shipped. You also get to experience the kit opening moment live with the community.

Do I need to RSVP for events?

Yes — RSVP is required for all events as space is limited. Links to RSVP for each event can be found on the Events page.
